System and Network Administrator

Experteer Overview In this role, you will design, secure, and maintain a hybrid enterprise infrastructure, serving as the technical backbone of operations. You will bridge on-premises networking and cloud services to ensure a secure, reliable environment across the system lifecycle. You’ll own from Cisco/Juniper networking and Palo Alto security to Windows Server and Azure cloud management, driving stability and performance at scale. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement policies, monitor performance, and support upgrades and migrations. This is a hands-on, impact-focused role that shapes the security posture and resilience of the organization. Compensation / Benefits * Configure and troubleshoot Juniper and Cisco networking gear and wireless infrastructure * Administer Palo Alto firewalls, including policies, NAT, VPNs, and threat prevention * Manage site-to-site and remote access VPNs for secure connectivity * Monitor network performance and capacity with approved tools * Perform firmware upgrades and lifecycle tasks for network devices * Install and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) in physical and virtual environments * Manage Active Directory and Entra ID, including GPOs and hybrid identity synchronization * Administer DNS, DHCP, PKI/cert management * Implement patching schedules, backups, and disaster recovery * Support virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware ESXi) * Deploy and manage Azure resources (VMs, VNets, NSGs, Storage, Key Vault) * Monitor cloud usage, performance, and costs; optimize as needed * Support Azure backup, monitoring, and logging (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) * Maintain secure hybrid connectivity between on-prem and Azure * Enforce system and network security policies and least privilege * Manage IAM across local and cloud environments * Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance * Document firewall rules, configurations, and cloud architectures * Provide Tier II/III support for network, server, and cloud incidents * Troubleshoot cross-functional issues across routing, OS, AD replication, and cloud services * Maintain CMDB configuration records and follow change management * Assist in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new deployments Tasks * Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) * 8-15 years of experience in Systems Engineering/Analysis * Strong Windows Server administration and Active Directory experience * Hands-on Microsoft Azure administration experience * Solid Cisco networking knowledge (Catalyst/Nexus, routers, wireless) and Juniper switches * Direct Palo Alto firewall experience (PAN-OS) * Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing (OSPF, BGP), VPNs, and defense-in-depth security * Experience with monitoring/troubleshooting tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, Azure Monitor) * Ability to support Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints in an enterprise network * Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, PKI, and certificate management * Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware ESXi) * Strong documentation and communication skills * Ability to work independently on complex, multi-site infrastructure Key requirements *
