Software Engineer SME

Experteer Overview As a Software Engineer SME at CACI, you will contribute to mission-critical software on a large, long-term program. You will work in small, innovative teams to deliver effective tools that support users in the field. Your role combines design, development, testing, and deployment, with an emphasis on collaboration and timely delivery. Compensation / Benefits * Collaborate on design and development of mission-critical software for users * Apply test-driven and iterative development methods to deliver software on schedule * Provide technical solutions aligned with design/interface definitions during development * Support testing, integration, and deployment of software baseline * Communicate effectively within a responsive, high-performing team * Share information within the team and management to drive mission success * Engage in requirements analysis, design, and development starting from concept to implementation * Coach and guide lower-level engineers, with limited supervision Tasks * TS/SCI clearance to begin employment * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and 5+ years of related experience * Experience with Object Oriented and Functional programming * Proficiency in Java, JMS, Angular, Hibernate, Camel, Spring * Experience with REST and Web services * Experience in service-based development * Messaging Technologies like ActiveMQ, Kafka, or similar * Software Testing (e.g., JUnit, Automated Test Tools) * Linux shell scripting and build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle) * Socket interface communications/Java Network Programming * Java Security and Cryptology (PKI Certificates) * Linux operating systems * Ability to work with limited oversight and manage large projects * Experience coaching and delegating work to team members * Ability to influence others regarding policies and procedures Key requirements * flexible time off * robust learning resources * healthcare * retirement benefits * education opportunities * time off benefits
