Job description

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Splunk Expert / Technical Lead FR (F/M/X) to join our Digital team based in Élancourt (78), France.

You will be part of a dedicated team driving the core of our system monitoring and security capabilities. As part of this critical function, you will be involved in advanced platform architecture and technical leadership aiming at ensuring the optimal performance, security, and resilience of our internal systems.

Your challenges:

  • Architect & Innovate: Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of robust Splunk solutions across diverse Airbus environments.
  • Optimize Performance: Manage and fine-tune Splunk instances, ensuring highly efficient data ingestion, indexing, and search performance.
  • Empower Security & Operations: Develop advanced dashboards, reports, and alerts to support security operations and compliance, while aiding incident response through expert Splunk-based forensic analysis and data retrieval.
  • Lead & Collaborate: Act as a technical mentor for junior Splunk administrators and analysts, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate Splunk with our wider IT and security infrastructure.
  • Shape Governance: Troubleshoot complex technical issues, contribute to the development of internal Splunk governance and standards, and ensure we stay ahead of the latest features and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven expert-level background in Splunk Enterprise (architecture, deployment, and administration) with a degree in Computer Science/IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Splunk best practices (data onboarding, SPL, performance optimization) and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation. Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) and/or IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) is highly desirable.
  • Leadership & Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to unpack complex issues, paired with excellent communication skills to lead and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Certifications: Relevant Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin) are a significant advantage.
  • Security Clearance: Please note: This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities. Due to the management of “Special France” topics and according to IGI 1300 from 9th August 2021, French nationality is mandatory for this role., This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
