Broker Support / Broker Back-up Technician

Working within the Treaty Reinsurance team, you will provide high-quality operational, administrative and technical support to brokers, clients and markets. You will be involved in the administration of new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments across a portfolio of Treaty Reinsurance business., As a Broker Support / Broker Back-up Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing client documentation and reinsurance information to ensure information is accurate, complete and sufficiently comprehensive to support the quotation and placement process.
• Preparing, reviewing and checking reinsurance market presentations.
• Supporting Treaty Reinsurance brokers throughout the London Market placement process.
• Liaising with clients, brokers, reinsurers, underwriters and third-party stakeholders to resolve queries efficiently.
• Responding to market and third-party enquiries relating to Treaty Reinsurance placements.
• Producing accurate, high-quality and compliant London Market insurance and reinsurance documentation.
• Supporting the production of Market Reform Contracts (MRCs) and ensuring appropriate authorisations and approvals are obtained.
• Acting as a key link between Broking Teams and Technical Processing Teams.
• Providing accurate handover documentation to support the timely and efficient processing of reinsurance transactions.
• Monitoring reinsurance premium payments, premium due dates and outstanding balances.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on company systems and databases.
• Collating and communicating client requirements to ensure effective marketing and placement of reinsurance risks.
• Supporting the successful placement and administration of Treaty Reinsurance programmes.
• Developing strong working relationships with clients, Lloyd’s brokers, reinsurers and underwriting markets.
• Following agreed procedures, company policies and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant delivery of reinsurance services.
• Maintaining accurate client files and reinsurance records.
• Overseeing the prompt and accurate production of policy, contract and placement documentation.
• Supporting senior brokers, account executives, technicians and other members of the Treaty Reinsurance team.
• Handling or referring client enquiries, Treaty renewals, new business opportunities and mid-term adjustments.
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the wider business.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of effective underwriter and reinsurer relationships.
• Providing high-quality technical and administrative support to Reinsurance Brokers.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in Reinsurance, Treaty Reinsurance, Lloyd’s broking, insurance broking, broker support, technical broking or reinsurance administration., * Previous experience working within Reinsurance, preferably Treaty Reinsurance.

• Experience supporting Treaty Brokers, Reinsurance Brokers or London Market Brokers.
• Understanding of the Treaty Reinsurance placement process.
• Experience within the Lloyd’s or London Market insurance and reinsurance sector.
• Knowledge or experience of Market Reform Contracts (MRC) and London Market documentation.
• Understanding of reinsurance administration, technical processing and broker support.
• Experience dealing with clients, underwriters, reinsurers and insurance markets.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, renewals and mid-term changes effectively.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
• A professional and collaborative approach to working with brokers, clients, markets and internal stakeholders.
