Job description
The Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise business applications, APIs, integrations, and internal software solutions that support organizational operations and strategic initiatives. This position collaborates with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, project managers, and data services personnel to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable applications that improve operational efficiency,
automation, reporting, and user experience.
This role requires experience in modern application development, systems integration, database collaboration, and secure coding practices. The Software Developer participates in technical design discussions, troubleshooting efforts, modernization initiatives, and ongoing application support while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and security requirements., * 20% - Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise business applications and internal software tools.
- 10% - Build and maintain web applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations with internal and third-party systems.
- 10% - Develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces using modern web technologies and frameworks.
- 10% - Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- 10% - Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access layers for enterprise databases.
- 10% - Support systems integration efforts, ETL processes, and workflow automation
- initiatives.
- 5% - Implement secure coding practices and support authentication, authorization, and compliance requirements.
- 5% - Participate in software architecture, technical design discussions, code reviews, and vulnerability remediation.
- 5% - Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
- 5% - Maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, and integrations.
- 5% - Assist with application upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
- 5% - Participate in Agile or hybrid project activities, including planning, testing, and deployment support., Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional experience developing enterprise applications, APIs, or systems integrations.
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
- An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment., * Experience developing applications using C#, .NET 10, Blazor, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Entity Framework, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Experience developing and supporting REST APIs and enterprise system integrations.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid software development environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise business systems, internal operational tools, or workflow modernization initiatives., * Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.
- Term Limited: One Year Contract, with the option to renew based on business needs.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to support deployments, upgrades, or production incidents. Position may operate in a hybrid or on-site work environment depending on organizational needs.

There are many additional perks & programs with the CU Advantage., The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $78,051-$104,588.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
