Cisco Network Engineer

We are seeking a Network Engineer for an opportunity that is onsite in Suitland, Maryland. All applicants must have an active Public Trust.

Primary Responsibilities: Be able to upgrade and configure layer 3 Cisco network equipment Provide Peer review for all significant network changes Extensive knowledge setting up VLAN switching and routing Experience with Orion Solarwinds, HP Openview, or Cisco Works network monitoring software Experience configuring firewalls Testing and termination of copper and fiber cabling Ensure current and accurate Enterprise level documentation Provide network metrics reflecting compliance with SLA’s Mentor and coach lower level network engineers through complex tasks Familiar with Visio to create network diagrams Ability to use Microsoft Office suite to create network documentation

Primary Skills Required: At least ten (10) years of network engineering experience. Experience working within the development and operations organizations to support the design and deployment of network infrastructure. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with 9 years of overall related experience or 13 years without a degree Possession of a Cisco CCNA or CCNP within the networking field Able to configure and manage DHCP servers Able to configure and manage DNS Solar Winds Network Monitor setup and maintenance A Public Trust Clearance is required U.S. Citizenship required

Skills Desired: Bachelor Degree Additional network certifications are a plus for this individual
