Job description
A leading provider of evidence-based mental health care is seeking a highly capable IT Systems Engineer to take ownership of the evaluation, implementation, integration, and ongoing optimization of our technology ecosystem within a behavioral health environment. This individual will serve as the technical steward of business-critical systems, ensuring that platforms operate reliably, integrate seamlessly, and evolve in alignment with clinical and operational needs., 1. Systems Strategy & Vetting
- Evaluate, recommend, and select software platforms that align with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and scalability needs.
- Conduct technical and operational due diligence, including vendor assessments, workflow fit analysis, and cost-benefit evaluations.
- Establish standards for system architecture, interoperability, and data governance in a healthcare environment.

Implementation & Integration * Lead end-to-end implementation of new software solutions, including configuration, testing, deployment, and change management. * Design and manage integrations to ensure seamless data flow across systems (EHR, practice management, billing, CRM, scheduling, HR, and reporting platforms). * Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful implementations with minimal operational disruption.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization * Analyze workflows across clinical, administrative, and revenue cycle operations to identify automation and efficiency opportunities. * Drive system enhancements, upgrades, and configuration improvements to maximize value and user adoption. * Maintain comprehensive documentation for workflows, integrations, and technical configurations.

Maintenance & Support * Oversee ongoing system administration, including user provisioning, permissions, security controls, and troubleshooting. * Coordinate software updates, patches, and vendor support relationships. * Ensure system reliability, uptime, and compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration * Partner with clinical leadership, operations, and administrative teams to understand real-world workflows and translate requirements into technical solutions. * Provide training, guidance, and support to improve system adoption and effectiveness. * Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on technology strategy, risk management, and digital transformation initiatives.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems integration?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, A core success factor in this role is the ability to deeply understand operational and clinical workflows and translate them into efficient, scalable technological processes. The role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution within a dynamic, fast-paced small-to-medium enterprise (SME) setting. The successful candidate will be a trusted partner to leadership, clinical teams, and administrative stakeholders, enabling secure, compliant, and efficient information flow across the organization., * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-7+ years of experience in systems engineering, healthcare IT, business systems administration, or implementation roles.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in a behavioral health or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with Monday.com or similar CRM platforms.
- Experience integrating systems using APIs, middleware, or automation tools.
- Strong ability to analyze operational workflows and translate them into scalable technology solutions.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and healthcare security requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced SME environment with evolving priorities., * Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment environments.
- Familiarity with revenue cycle management systems and healthcare billing workflows.
- Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Zapier).
- Knowledge of reporting, analytics, or business intelligence platforms.
- Project management experience or certifications (PMP, Agile, etc.).
- Training effectiveness and adoption metrics
- Reduction in support requests over time due to improved usability
