Job description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a company focused on cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance for the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This position is on-site in Washington, DC. The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will support and secure the NNSA classified IT environment through cyber engineering, security assessments, risk management, and enterprise security initiatives. Responsibilities for the Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) include:
- Provide cybersecurity engineering solutions and technical analysis for complex information security and critical infrastructure security challenges.
- Conduct security assessments, risk analysis, and cybersecurity consulting activities for DOE/NNSA facilities and classified environments.
- Design, develop, and implement software and technical solutions supporting mission-critical cybersecurity initiatives.
- Deliver cybersecurity training and knowledge-sharing sessions to domestic and international partners.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, architects, engineers, and program managers to implement security controls, ensure compliance, and support enterprise security objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting information security, cybersecurity engineering, systems security, risk management, or classified IT environments.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, RSA, Tenable Nessus, SELinux, Microsoft and Linux operating environments, and strong understanding of ports, protocols, and services.
- Experience conducting security planning, assessments, risk analysis, cybersecurity training, technical documentation, and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Active DOE Q Clearance or active Top Secret Clearance with an investigation current within the last five years required.
- Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC and participate in on-call support requirements.
- Experience with SentinelOne, IDS/IPS solutions, MECM, Ansible, GEMS, and SIMS/Sentris environments preferred.
Benefits & conditions
- Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
