Job description
We’re looking for Databricks Engineers who like to THINK BIG.
At Big Industries, we’re building the next generation of AI-ready Data Platforms.
Our ambition is simple: become Belgium’s most trusted partner for modern data and AI platforms. We help leading organisations design, build and operate scalable lakehouse architectures, real-time data platforms and production AI environments across AWS, Azure, hybrid and on-premises infrastructures.
Whether it’s Data Engineering, Streaming, AI Platform Engineering or MLOps, we believe great technology starts with great engineers. If you’re passionate about Databricks and want to work on challenging enterprise projects that truly make an impact, we’d love to meet you.
So, what exactly will you be doing?
- Design and implement scalable lakehouse architectures using Databricks.
- Build high-performance batch and streaming data pipelines with Spark, Kafka and Delta Lake.
- Develop robust data solutions using Python, SQL and cloud-native services.
- Help customers operationalise AI by contributing to MLOps, MLflow, model deployment and AI platform engineering.
- Build reliable, secure and governed data platforms across AWS, Azure and Cloudera environments.
- Collaborate with architects, data scientists and platform engineers to deliver production-grade solutions.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD principles to modern data platforms.
- Continuously explore emerging technologies in Data Engineering, AI and cloud computing.
What do you need to do a stellar job?
You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and continuously learning new technologies.
Ideally, you have:
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Delta Lake, Iceberg, Kubernetes or Terraform is a strong plus.
- An interest in AI Platform Engineering, MLOps, LLMOps or production AI is highly appreciated.
- A passion for engineering best practices, automation and high-quality software.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
We’ll think you’re extra cool if you…
- Are good at coming up with memes (or posing for them).
- Own a 1989 Gameboy and are willing to share it, ‘cause we’ve lost ours.
What’s in it for you?
At Big Industries, we want you to become the professional you want to be. That’s why you’ll always have your team of experienced colleagues to help you and all the tools you need to do an amazing job.
Money and stuff…
- A nice salary package with extra benefits, such as home office allowance, eco vouchers,…
- A car you will want to show off to your family (with Benelux fuel card).
- A nice phone (of your choice) and laptop (Apple by default) to share funny memes with your colleagues.
- A lunch allowance (if bullies steal it, don’t come crying to us).
- A health and pension plan, to keep you happy and healthy now and when you’re in diapers!
But at least equally important:
- Membership of our Big Industries Academy to keep learning any way you want.
- A personalized training plan and a budget to register for the training courses you need.
- Monthly check-ins to see how you’re doing (we’ll provide the tissues if it’s bad).
- Regular team events to keep connected with your colleagues as well as spontaneous, informal drinks.
- An awesome team that will always have your back, in person or via Slack!
