In this Software Test Engineer role, you’ll contribute to one of the largest ongoing naval development programs. Within this environment, advanced software capabilities are integrated into a mission-critical combat management platform that enables operators to make informed decisions within seconds. You’ll be part of multidisciplinary Scrum teams responsible for software integration, testing, validation, and system quality. The environment combines modern software development practices with complex real-time systems, high-tech integrations, and close collaboration between software, system, and test engineers. The systems you help validate and test directly contribute to the operational readiness, reliability, and performance of next-generation naval defense systems. What you’ll be doing as a Software Test Engineer:
- Executing software integration and test activities
- Collaborating with software and system engineers
- Defining and implementing test strategies
- Automating functional and integration tests
- Validating complex real-time software systems
- Performing exploratory and functional testing
- Contributing to CI/CD and test environments
- Improving software quality and system reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or similar
- 3+ years in software test or integration engineering
- Familiar with Java and/or C++ environments
- Skilled in software testing and test automation
- Comfortable in Linux-based development environments
- Knowledge of CI/CD tooling and workflows
- ISTQB certification is preferred
- Fluent in English; Dutch is beneficial
