SAP ABAP Product Developer

At SHAPEiN, we are looking for a highly skilled ABAP Product Developer with a strong product and engineering mindset to join our growing international team. We are building innovative SAP-based products in a small, agile, and highly collaborative environment, combining startup energy with structured engineering practices. In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of our existing SAP product suite and help build new products from the ground up, owning features end-to-end and working closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders. This is a product engineering role, where we value scalable, extensible, and maintainable solutions and a long-term approach to product evolution; not just one-off developments., * Develop and maintain ABAP applications across SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC/ERP, and SAP BTP.

• Design and implement clean, scalable, and extensible architectures using OO-ABAP principles.
• Build reusable components, frameworks and product-grade building blocks, not just one-off developments.
• Develop and expose OData services (SAP Gateway / CDS-based services) to enable modern SAP application architectures.
• Contribute to SAP Fiori applications, ensuring seamless integration between backend services and user-facing UI layers.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making and product roadmap definition.
• Contribute to code reviews, engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Take full ownership of features across the entire product lifecycle (design * development * release * maintenance).
• Opportunity to contribute to and lead the development of new SAP products from scratch.

• Strong ABAP development experience in SAP S/4HANA, ECC/ERP or SAP BTP (multi-platform experience is a strong plus).
• Excellent command of Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), including principles such as SOLID, clean architecture and separation of concerns.
• Experience designing maintainable, extensible and product-grade solutions, not just transactional or report-based developments.
• Strong understanding of SAP backend-to-frontend architecture, including service exposure for UI consumption.
• Strong product mindset: ability to think beyond tasks and focus on user value, system design and long-term evolution.
• Good level of English (written and spoken) in an international environment.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first set-up, with strong ownership and accountability., * Experience with SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry, CAP integration scenarios).
• Strong knowledge of SAP Fiori (UI5) development or extension of Fiori applications.
• Deep understanding of OData (V2/V4), SAP Gateway and CDS-based service exposure.
• Experience with SAP extension frameworks and enhancement strategies.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, event-driven architectures or SAP integration patterns (CPI, IDocs, APIs, etc.).
• Experience working in a product company or SaaS environment (vs. consulting).
• Understanding of release management, versioning strategies.
• Experience with the Workday platform and integration tools (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs).
