This role sits within a modern platform engineering function and focuses heavily on automation, security and reliability.You’ll work closely with cloud, security and application teams to deliver high-availability networking for business-critical systems, with real ownership over architecture and implementation.The RoleDesign and deploy network architecture across AWS and on-prem environmentsBuild and operate AWS networking services including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN and Direct ConnectConfigure and manage load balancing (ALB/NLB) and ingress within Kubernetes environmentsImplement network security controls including WAF, segmentation and firewall policiesOwn

connectivity patterns such as PrivateLink and service-to-service networkingManage perimeter and internal firewalls (Palo Alto or similar)Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across networkingMonitor, troubleshoot and optimise network performance, security and costRespond to incidents, vulnerabilities and security eventsMaintain clear technical documentation and standardsSkills requiredStrong background in enterprise or cloud networkingHands-on experience with AWS networking (VPC, TGW, Route 53, Direct Connect)Experience with cloud security platforms such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA)Solid understanding of routing, switching, VPNs and firewallingExperience managing Palo Alto or equivalent firewallsExposure to automation and IaC (Terraform, Python desirable)Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworksFamiliarity with Kubernetes networking conceptsThis is a unique opportunity for someone to expand further into financial technology.
