Job description

Credo is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer- Optical Test Automation to lead the development of scalable software systems for automated validation of 800G and 1.6T OSFP and QSFP-DD optical modules. You’ll architect lab automation frameworks, integrate advanced optical and electrical test equipment, and define the next-generation validation infrastructure that enables rapid deployment of Credo’s high-speed data center interconnect products., * Architect and develop lab automation frameworks in Python and C++.

  • Integrate and control instrumentation using SCPI, VISA, and REST APIs.
  • Automate testing with DCAs (eye, jitter, TDECQ) and VNAs (S-parameters).
  • Develop workflows with optical switches and VOAs for margin and sensitivity testing.
  • Enable system-level validation across Arista EOS, NVIDIA (Cumulus/SONiC), and Juniper platforms.
  • Automate 800G and 1.6T traffic and breakout modes using traffic generators.
  • Build data pipelines, dashboards, and statistical analysis tools for test results.
  • Lead distributed lab orchestration, CI/CD integration, and test infrastructure.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Optics?, * B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Photonics.

  • 8+ years of experience in test automation, instrumentation, or optical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with SCPI, PyVISA, and Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with DCAs, VNAs, optical switches, and VOAs.
  • Working knowledge of PAM4, signal integrity, and optical link budgets.
  • Experience with QSFP-DD and OSFP modules at 400G, 800G, and 1.6T.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience automating Arista EOS, SONiC, or Cumulus Linux.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.3 and OIF specifications.
  • Experience with high-volume validation or manufacturing test systems.
