Job description

We’re recruiting for a Data & Reporting Officer to support an important Protected Sites Programme within a public sector organisation.

This is a varied opportunity combining data management, reporting, systems support and stakeholder coordination. You’ll play an important role in maintaining accurate data, producing reports and insights, supporting users and helping improve the systems and processes used to manage important environmental information across Wales.

The role would suit someone with a background in data management, reporting, systems or a technical environment, with experience using data to produce meaningful reports and insights. What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining and developing the Protected Sites database, ensuring data is accurate, complete and up to date
  • Managing and coordinating the site actions inbox, ensuring actions and queries are allocated, monitored and followed up
  • Producing reports, performance information and data outputs for internal and external stakeholders
  • Developing and improving reporting capabilities using Power BI
  • Carrying out data quality checks and working with stakeholders to identify and resolve data issues
  • Providing support, guidance and assistance to system users
  • Attending workshops, Teams meetings and discussions with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Supporting system improvements, testing and user feedback
  • Monitoring system issues and working with ICT teams and suppliers to help resolve problems
  • Maintaining and updating system documentation and user guidance
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of data management processes, systems and the overall user experience

Requirements

Are you an experienced data professional with strong reporting and analytical skills?, * Previous experience in data management, data administration, reporting or a similar role

  • Experience producing reports and analysing data, ideally using Power BI
  • Strong attention to detail and an understanding of data quality and data accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders
  • A technical or systems based background would be advantageous
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team

It would be great if you have experience in:

  • Power BI and data visualisation
  • Data quality and data governance
  • Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • AMX or similar asset management systems
  • Database or information management
  • Technical or systems support
  • Producing performance reports and data insights
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders
