Through powerful solutions and managed services that simplify complexity, we enable our clients to operate with resilience, grow with confidence, and proactively manage to secure success., Deloitte seeks an Systems Administrator - OT Network Assessment & Monitoring Engineer with expertise supporting information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) networks in high-security, government-regulated environments. The ideal candidate will leverage at least 5 years of experience in systems administration-including proven leadership and automation of Linux-based and enterprise-scale infrastructure-to drive the reliability, security, and optimization of our DoD network and network monitoring ecosystem. This role emphasizes proactive operations management, Red Hat Linux expertise, and a strong commitment to system compliance and process automation. Key Responsibilities Network & System Operations; Oversee the daily operational health and performance of OT-focused network and monitoring solutions in classified and mission-critical environments; Conduct periodic and ad-hoc assessments of network/server infrastructure, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Rocky, RedHawk) to identify areas for optimization and hardening; Apply experience in automating system baselines and patching using Ansible, Bash, and Kickstart to improve consistency and reduce downtime; Collaborate with engineering, development, and security teams to support DevSecOps best practices, streamline updates, and ensure continuous ATO readiness aligned with DISA STIG, NIST, and RMF frameworks. Maintenance & Troubleshooting; OS knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba network equipment; Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux and network issues, providing mentoring support to junior administrators and team members; Develop and maintain documentation-including architecture diagrams, process documents, root-cause analyses, and compliance records-to support a culture of transparency and accountability. Administration & Support; Lead and support Red Hat Linux system administration and security hardening tasks in operational settings; Knowledge and maintenance of hypervisors (VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V) and containerization platforms (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes); Introduce and analyze operational metrics to guide process improvement and adoption of new tools or procedures. Reporting & Continuous Improvement; Prepare clear documentation and regular progress reports for management and technical stakeholders; Drive and contribute to technical reviews, lessons learned, and action plans based on deployment and operational data, promoting a cycle of continuous improvement and reduced audit failures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalence experience required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active Secret security clearance required
  • Must be local to Huntsville, AL and able to come onsite 5 days a week.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II+ Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
  • 12+ years of total professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the following:

  • System/network administration for high-security or government programs, including team and technical leadership.
  • Hands-on experience administering and automating Red Hat Linux environments in production settings.
  • Enterprise Active Directory, Certificate Authority, DNS/DHCP.
  • Experience meeting DoD standards for STIG compliance, ATO, RMF, and vulnerability management.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps automation (Ansible, Git, Bash) and monitoring solution integration
