Job description
- Architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and debugging integrated embedded real-time software within heterogenous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
- Develop or maintain DevSecOps tooling such as build pipelines, test automation, deployment processes, and configuration management.
- Participate in a cross-functional team performing analysis of radar data.
- Provide feedback to other team members based up a review of their work.
- Support software integration and verification activities.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, products, and teaming.
- Work in a team environment with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate these into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
- Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.
- This job is onsite in Plano, TX (TX217); applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.
Requirements
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
- Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
- Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
- Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance., * Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
- Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
- Experience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and use, including Static Code Analysis, Automated Build, and Automated Test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with Test-Driven Development approach.
- Hands-on experience with Git for version control and GitLab or Artifactory for repository management.
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
