Full Stack Developer (Python/React.js)Position Type:Not ProvidedLocation:Remote within the continental United StatesDays Remote:Fully remotePosition Summary:The Full Stack Developer (Python/React.js) will design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications supporting the DHS/USCIS FINCH program. The role requires hands-on development experience with Python, React.js, Java/Spring Boot, relational and NoSQL databases, microservices-based architectures, and commonly used AWS services. Working as part of a cross-functional Agile DevSecOps team, the developer will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate client requirements into secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement Python-based enterprise solutions that meet client requirements. Develop full-stack web applications using Python, React.js, Java, and Spring Boot. Design solutions using object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, microservices, streaming technologies, database design, and data modeling. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile team members to plan work, follow development best practices, and communicate progress to the client. Support quality-focused development practices, including test-driven development. Apply Agile development values and principles as part of an Agile DevSecOps team. Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the codebase. Evaluate the technical effort required to implement client requirements. Participate in creating and estimating user stories. Participate in all Agile ceremonies and events. Work with team members to ensure that technical user stories and acceptance criteria are accurately documented. Contribute to system design and procedural documentation. Lead developers in the design and delivery of cloud-based, continuously deployed client solutions. Communicate directly with non-technical client stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements and visualizations. Develop reasonable and accurate time estimates for assigned tasks. Prioritize and independently manage assigned work while adapting to changing priorities, feedback, and client needs.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional Python backend software or application development experience. At least 5 years of hands-on front-end development experience with React.js. Professional experience developing Java/Spring Boot backend applications. Professional experience building microservices-based architectures. Experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban. Experience leading developers in the design and delivery of cloud-based, continuously deployed client solutions. Mandatory Skills: Python backend development. React.js front-end development. Java and Spring Boot backend development. Microservices-based architecture. Hands-on experience with at least one NoSQL database, such as MongoDB or DynamoDB. Hands-on experience with a relational database management system, such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with commonly used AWS services, including S3, EC2, SQS, Lambda, and RDS. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, including generating, reviewing, and validating code within AI-driven workflows. Object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, database design, and data modeling. Test-driven development and code-review practices. Jira. Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills. Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into technical requirements and effective visualizations. Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. U.S. citizenship. Current residence within the continental United States. Willingness to work Eastern Time business hours. Ability to pass a seven-year background check and obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance. Nice-to-Have Skills: Active or current DHS-USCIS Entry on Duty clearance or investigation. Experience working in an onsite client technical-consulting environment. Degrees and Certifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Python certification, AWS certification, and/or Java certification.
