Job description

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and mentor to both technical leadership and individual engineering pods. You will bridge the gap between high-level productivity methodologies and ground-level technical execution. Whether you are leading a large-scale enterprise training session on modern engineering practices or sitting with a single team to unblock their CI/CD pipeline adoption, you will be the catalyst for higher quality code, reduced technical debt, and accelerated delivery., Engineering Excellence Technical Guidance Drive Automation Adoption: Guide development teams through the practical adoption and maturation of test management automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline tooling. Code Quality Tech Debt: Advise teams on strategic approaches to refactoring, reducing legacy technical debt, and implementing standards that consistently produce higher-quality, resilient code. Bridge Process and Technology: Align productivity methodologies with modern engineering practices (e.g., test-driven development, shift-left testing, trunk-based development) to ensure processes actually enhance technical delivery rather than hinder it. Coaching Enterprise Scaling Multi-Level Coaching: Seamlessly transition between coaching individual teams on tactical engineering challenges and advising senior leadership on large-scale technical strategy. Train at Scale: Design, develop, and deliver training programs, workshops, and playbooks to scale engineering best practices and tooling adoption across the wider enterprise. Change Management: Act as a change agent, building buy-in from engineering teams and overcoming resistance to new tools or methodologies through empathy, expertise, and proven results.

Requirements

You can explain complex technical paradigms to non-technical stakeholders and debate architectural choices with senior engineers, building trust and consensus at all levels. Deep Technical Credibility: You command respect from engineering teams because you have a prior, extensive hands-on technical background. You understand the friction points of software development because you have experienced them firsthand. Strategic Yet Tactical: You can design a multi-year enterprise tooling strategy but are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to troubleshoot a specific team’s workflow bottleneck., 10+ years of software development, engineering leadership, or technical architecture experience. 7+ years of hands-on experience with DevOps concepts using: GitHub, Jenkins, XL Release, and Ansible Tower. 7+ years of hands-on experience with leading and executing test automation frameworks including but not limited to TDD and BDD with tools: nUnit/xUnit, Selenium, and SonarQube. Proven track record in a Director-level, Principal, or Senior Coaching capacity within a large-scale, complex enterprise environment. Deep, practical expertise with promoting and coaching modern CI/CD pipeline tooling (e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, Celestial, Ansible, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and Test Management Automation best practices. Extensive experience implementing strategies to measure, manage, and pay down technical debt at scale. Demonstrated ability to design and deliver technical training to large groups while also providing one-on-one or team-based mentorship., + $109,700-175,500 per year Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Agile leader.
