Job description
We are seeking an Infrastructure Application and DB SME - Sr who provides support, analysis, and research into implementing the design, architecture, and technology identified as part of a modernization effort. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions tied to the database upgrade; determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results; and develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Provides IT services in multiple technical areas (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Systems Management). Per the JETS 2 LCAT description, also administers and troubleshoots Oracle EBS Financial ERP, Oracle Database, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Single Sign-On (SSO)/Oracle Access Manager (OAM), Oracle Identity Manager (OIM), Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Hyperion, Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ) software, Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK), and Oracle Governance, Risk, Compliance tools, and cloning; and implements Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), Active Dataguard, Golden Gate, and database performance tuning within the Oracle EBS environment., * Implement modern databases necessary for migration efforts to function in a cloud environment, converting the legacy DB to a modern transactional/relational database.
- Update the assessment of the current database environment, documenting database platforms, versions and configurations; data volumes, growth rates and retention requirements; current performance metrics, bottlenecks and constraints; key integration points and dependencies; and security controls and compliance requirements.
- Update the database modernization strategy and roadmap, and update the database architecture and design to support scaling from prototype to full production.
- Implement the design and architecture in the development, test, and integration (pre-production) environments.
- Develop and define the migration execution strategy.
- Support the pre-production environment build-out including cloud native capabilities, ZT/ICAM integration, batch and real-time processing, and ingestion of both flat files and modern file standards.
- Serve as a technical expert providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives to the infrastructure and database upgrade implementation.
- Provide technical writing to ensure all reports and deliverables are delivered with timeliness and quality to the Government.
- Develop required documentation and training to support the modernization effort.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Years of Experience: Ten (10) years
Education Level: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or closely related discipline.
Clearance Requirements: Secret. Must possess IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at time of proposal submission., * Resume shall demonstrate experience working in legacy system modernization efforts.
- Must demonstrate experience working with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud solutions.
- Experience with full stack infrastructure deployments highly preferred.
- Preferred experience working with AI/ML tools.
- Must have supported DoD or Federal Oracle shared service providers on an Oracle EBS R12.2 platform or higher, and must have a strong command of the English language.
- Demonstrated experience with hierarchical-to-relational database transition and large complex financial management systems.
- Extensive experience working highly complex IT systems. Resume must demonstrate experience working legacy system upgrades, modernization, legacy system transition, data migration and/or system analysis and design. Priority given to personnel with demonstrated experience performing functional and technical solutions decomposition that enables solutions analysis and design, and demonstrated experience implementing solutions with respect to modern database design and modern software languages within the federal Government, specifically within the DoD. AI/ML experience is preferred.
- Travel to on-site meetings in Columbus, OH (Onsite once per month (average) up to 3 days.)
