Job description

Position Summary:The Junior UI/UX & Visual Designer will help shape visual identity and UI/UX strategy for federal and commercial accounts. Working within a cross-functional Agile team, this role will create user-centered designs, wireframes, prototypes, responsive interfaces, personas, journey maps, and supporting design documentation. The designer will collaborate closely with UX professionals, developers, clients, and other stakeholders on design projects and emerging-technology engagements involving identity intelligence, immersive technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning, virtualization, augmented reality, and digital transformation.Key Responsibilities: Contribute to visual design direction and UI/UX strategy. Ideate and design solutions that address user and stakeholder needs and requirements. Apply Human-Centered Design principles throughout the design process. Develop designs iteratively based on project objectives and research feedback. Create detailed wireframes, clickable prototypes, and responsive designs for different platforms and screen sizes. Develop user personas, journey maps, user stories, and content flows. Organize and maintain version-controlled design documentation, guides, libraries, and related assets. Present design concepts and proposed solutions to team members, clients, and other stakeholders. Produce clean, high-quality design artifacts in formats suitable for development and project use. Collaborate with UX team members, developers, clients, and stakeholders. Work with the team to ensure that user stories and acceptance criteria are accurately captured. Participate in Agile ceremonies and coordinate with cross-functional team members to plan work, follow best practices, and communicate progress to the client. Translate between non-technical client needs and technical team requirements. Develop reasonable and accurate time estimates for assigned tasks. Stay current with UI/UX practices, design developments, and industry trends.

Requirements

At least 2 years of professional UI/UX and visual design experience. Experience working within Agile frameworks. Experience designing for different platforms and screen sizes. Mandatory Skills: Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Strong visual portfolio demonstrating Human-Centered Design. Ability to create detailed wireframes, clickable prototypes, responsive designs, personas, journey maps, user stories, and content flows. Strong visual design and UI/UX design capabilities. Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain and advocate for design solutions. Ability to communicate directly with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical or design requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, UI/UX professionals, developers, clients, and other stakeholders. Ability to create reasonable and accurate estimates for assigned tasks. Ability to prioritize work, take initiative, and manage assigned responsibilities independently. Adaptability as priorities and client needs change. U.S. citizenship. Ability to pass a seven-year background check and obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance. Nice-to-Have Skills: Active or current DHS-USCIS Entry on Duty clearance or investigation. Experience with user research. Experience with information architecture. Experience developing user-experience strategy. Excellent written communication skills. Previous experience supporting federal agencies. Experience with video-editing software.
