Job description

Join our Flight Software team and help define how a launch vehicle behaves throughout all phases of flight. This role sits at the intersection of Guidance, Navigation & Control, flight dynamics, mission analysis, simulation and flight software, turning engineering insight into robust C++ and Python implementations that can be tested, verified and flown.

Your Role in Our Space Mission

  • Develop, improve and verify GNC algorithms for launch vehicle applications.
  • Contribute to guidance strategy, navigation solutions and vehicle control techniques.
  • Support trajectory design, mission analysis and flight performance assessment.
  • Develop and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments for design, development and verification.
  • Model vehicle dynamics, environmental effects, sensors, actuators and subsystem interactions.
  • Implement and integrate GNC algorithms within production flight software.
  • Create analysis, testing and automation tools using C++, Python and MATLAB.
  • Investigate anomalies and unexpected behaviour in simulation, testing and flight operations, driving issues to root cause.

Requirements

  • Background in GNC, flight dynamics, astrodynamics, aerospace engineering, robotics or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of dynamic systems and vehicle behaviour.
  • Experience developing software in C++, Python or similar languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into practical, testable implementations.
  • Ability to work effectively across disciplinary boundaries with systems, avionics and flight software engineers.
  • Engineering curiosity combined with technical rigour and attention to detail.
  • Comfort moving between equations, simulation results, flight data, software and system-level behaviour.

Bonus Skills

  • Launch vehicle, spacecraft, aircraft or autonomous vehicle experience; guidance, navigation, estimation or control algorithm development; validation using test or flight data.
  • Experience with Linux development, version control, MATLAB/Simulink and practical software development.

Benefits & conditions

  • Employee Participation Program: Share in our success through our virtual company share program
  • 30 days of vacation: Enjoy the days off to relax and recharge
