Role description: To engineer a new line of high performance dampers for aftermarket and motorsport applications To work with suppliers to develop bespoke or improved versions of existing damper products Develop component targets based on customer requirements and track data Create product costings at concept phase and monitor/manage product costings through the entire project. Create and manage test plans Experience & qualifications: MINIMUM of an HNC/HND in mechanical or automotive engineering MINIMUM of 5 years design experience of vehicle dampers Eloquent and outgoing, able to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers and liaise on technical matters with other departments and customers CAD experience using Catia, NX, Creo, Solidworks or similar Experience of DFM, DFA, tolerancing Significant experience of cascading vehicle level attribute targets to component specifications Knowledge of the associated CAE tools and test methods for suspension systems Working knowledge of D-FMEA, P-FMEA, DVP’s & APQP Working arrangements: Remote working Potential travel requirement
