The Federal Chancellery provides comprehensive support to the Federal Chancellor in carrying out his or her duties. It briefs the Federal Chancellor on current political affairs and the activities of the federal ministries. In addition, the Federal Chancellery coordinates the work within the Federal Government, prepares the Federal Chancellor’s decisions, and oversees their implementation.
Division 132 is responsible for the secure operation and continuous development of information and communication technology at the Federal Chancellery. To this end, we operate our own systems and work closely with external service providers from the federal administration and the private sector. We rely on state-of-the-art technologies for the digitization and modernization of our IT.

Join our interdisciplinary team and help shape the IT infrastructure of the Federal Chancellery., * Planning, securing, administering, and supporting our IT services, particularly in the Microsoft/Active Directory environment
- Active design, implementation, and further development of (IT) service management tools (e.g., ITSM tools, CMDB, ticket systems), including process integration according to ITIL, as well as workflow and lifecycle process modeling
- Management, coordination, and further development of collaboration with external service providers, including the development of service specifications as well as SLA and contract management
- Optimization of the lifecycle for users and devices, particularly in the interaction between Active Directory, endpoint management, and provisioning processes
- Further development of Identity and Access Management (IAM) based on Active Directory in conjunction with central offerings from the Federal Government’s IT department
- Optimization of certificate management (e.g., AD CS/PKI, certificate lifecycles)
- Contributing to the digitization of administrative processes

Provided the personal requirements are met, the duties to be performed allow for classification up to Pay Grade 12 under the TVöD. The pay step assignment is based on your professional experience and career history to date.
Requirements
- A successfully completed degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in (business) computer science, telecommunications engineering, or another relevant field of study; or comparable experience and skills in the form of verifiable, multi-year, relevant professional experience with proof of continuing education, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the technologies used in this role
- Extensive experience with Microsoft technologies and securing Active Directory, as well as, ideally, in identity and certificate management
- Experience in analyzing, optimizing, and documenting IT processes, ideally in the context of service management or ITIL
- Knowledge of IT-Grundschutz or an interest in obtaining a corresponding certification is a plus
- Experience managing and coordinating external service providers, e.g., within the framework of SLAs or service agreements
- A structured, thorough, and solution-oriented approach to work, even when dealing with complex issues
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, with the confidence to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics and tools and to actively help shape processes
- Proficiency in German is essential (business-level - Level C1) as well as good English language skills (Level B1) (Competency levels based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Absolute confidentiality and willingness to participate in an extended security clearance process, including security investigations pursuant to Section 10 of the Security Clearance Act
Benefits & conditions
We can currently offer you an annual salary of up to 92,500 euros, including the ministerial allowance and annual bonus. Depending on the applicant pool, salaried employees may be eligible for an additional temporary skilled worker allowance, currently set at 700 euros per month. In addition, employees covered by the collective bargaining agreement receive a company pension plan through the Federal and State Pension Fund (Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder).
If you meet the personal requirements, you may be appointed to civil service status at a later date.
If you are already employed in the public sector or are a civil servant (up to pay grade A 13g, excluding the office allowance), we will seek to arrange a secondment or assignment with the goal of a transfer or permanent appointment.
We offer a good work-life balance with flexible working hours and the option to work from home as permitted by operational requirements, as well as 30 days of vacation per calendar year. In addition, provided you have sufficient time credits, we can grant you up to 18 days of compensatory time off within a year.
