Java Developer

Our client, an established financial services company, is looking for a capable Senior Java Developer to strengthen their engineering function. You’ll take a hands-on role in shaping the future of their post-trade platform, spanning proprietary systems, APIs, client-facing reporting and a web portal, alongside tailoring an existing third-party trading system. You’ll also work with microservices and event-driven architectures, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform. Testing coverage will rely on JUnit, Spock and Mockito, applying TDD and BDD along the way, and you’ll take part in code reviews that help raise the bar across the team. o On the people and communication side, you’ll work with Client Services and Product Management to shape solutions from business requirements, explain technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from developers to senior non-technical stakeholders, and cut through complex problems to find root causes and prioritise fixes. o You’ll guide and coach a team of developers, championing quality, ownership and continuous improvement, and collaborating smoothly with offshore colleagues across time zones.
