Join Orbotix as an Firmware Engineer - Embedded Systems - Valencia, Spain About us Orbotix is a defense tech company specializing in autonomous drones, robotics, and advanced AI. We combine cutting-edge engineering with deep domain knowledge to build high-performance systems for mission-critical environments. As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop and maintain low-level embedded firmware that runs on our custom electronics. You will play a key role in hardware bring-up, driver development, and hardware-software integration for UAV platforms. Key Responsibilities - Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontrollers (C/C ). - Implement and validate drivers for sensors, peripherals, and communication interfaces. - Support board bring-up and low-level debugging (JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes). - Collaborate closely with electronics engineers during hardware-software integration. - Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, and power efficiency. -
Requirements
Contribute to firmware architecture and coding standards. - Document firmware functionality and integration procedures. Must-Have Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field. - Solid experience developing embedded firmware in C/C . - Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures and embedded hardware. - Experience debugging low-level firmware and hardware-software interaction. - Familiarity with common communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, etc.). - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. - English at B1/B2 level (written and spoken). Preferred Qualifications - Experience with UAVs, robotics, or real-time embedded systems. - Background in defense, aerospace, or safety- / mission-critical systems. - Experience with RTOS environments. - FPGA experience is a plus. - Experience working in a startup or fast-paced R&D environment.
