Job description

Applications Architect is expected to leverage technology to streamline and smooth the execution of the organization’s business strategies. Must be able to make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms for the enterprise. Address the conceptual/planning level of the application architecture in collaboration with other architects focused on the needs of the technology, business and information architectures. Provides the reusable standards, guidelines, patterns and frameworks to application development projects, including those related to application architecture. At the project-level, verify that all aspects of the application solution architecture are optimized (as much as possible given other constraints of time and budget) by working with subject matter experts (SMEs) in the areas of technology, information and application architectures and disciplines., 1. Work as an architecture team lead on large cross-functional application projects, ensuring that robust and scalable solutions are implemented. Provide architectural guidance and oversight to quality assurance on all new code from inception through integration, staging and production environments. Provide hands-on support to peers; coach, guide, and mentor others in accomplishing architecture, design, and implementation goals

  1. Responsible for end-to-end enterprise development architecture; ensures code written to implement the architecture and design meets standards in terms of code quality and efficiency

  2. Drive continuous improvement; may include design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies; collaborate with other developers and architects to drive guidelines, methodologies, and documentation.

  3. Initiate, drive, and deliver effective experiences in partnership with distributed cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the architectural vision are communicated, supported, and delivered to the highest standards; align core .NET and Angular based platform development initiatives with Department development vision, strategy, and deployment.

  4. Design and develop SharePoint and Power Platform solutions (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) including but not limited to development of Power Apps Canvas driven apps, workflows using Power Automate and Microsoft SharePoint as well as Power BI data models, datasets, dataflows, dashboards, and visual interactive reports.

  5. Develop and apply knowledge of trends, relevant software development technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Experience

· 15+ years as a software architect, lead developer, and/or development manager - must have

· Expert level knowledge of FDOT architecture, applications systems design and integration -

· 2+ years as a developer with Microsoft SharePoint and Power Platform solutions -, 1. Knowledge of OOP (Object Oriented Programming) concepts

  1. Knowledge of design patterns, performance issues and troubleshooting strategies

  2. Knowledge of development methodologies including waterfall and agile

  3. Skilled in solution architecture using SharePoint and Power Platform solutions (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and SharePoint) technologies

  4. Skilled in SharePoint APIs and solution implementation best practices

  5. Skilled in the use of multiple development technologies including:

a. Required - .Net Core, Net Framework, C# 8.0, Angular 9, NodeJS, ASP.Net/MVC, WCF/WebAPI, MSMQ, SQL Server, MS Access, Entity Framework Core, Entity Framework 6.0, Typescript, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Durandal, Knockout, etc.), REST, XML, JSON, HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS, Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio 2019, Atom, Git, Visio

b. Nice to Have - Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Azure DevOps pipeline, ESRI JavaScript API, OpenText eDOCS API, Google API

  1. Skilled in complex DAX queries

  2. Skilled in creating Power BI Datasets and Dataflows

  3. Skilled in verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and customer service

  4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment

  5. Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team

  6. Ability to conduct complex systems analysis and translate user requirements into business solutions

  7. Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement

  8. Ability to architect cloud-based applications leveraging PaaS (Platform as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) offerings for leading vendors such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.

  9. Ability to lead technical teams in delivering web technology architecture, design, and implementation

  10. Ability to effectively communicate and lead distributed development teams

  11. Ability to display professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff

  12. Ability to exhibit creativity and resourcefulness at problem solving while collaborating and working effectively with others across varied discipline
