Job description
As Linux Engineer within Osmium, you will be part of our agile and international team. You will work in internal product development projects or for different private and public customers. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of Linux-based systems deployed (or to be…) in space missions, both in satellites and in ground IT infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures to protect critical infrastructure and data. Some of the day-to-day duties of the role are shown as follows: Research and development of Linux platform security aspects Designing, implementing and configuring different platform security components and features for different HW architectures in the aerospace sector Putting all your knowledge about the Linux Kernel and the application and network security mechanisms into practice for supporting customer’s programmes and product development. Defining, integrating and running security hardening tests of an embedded Linux system Support the cybersecurity team on specific Linux-related security aspects in the context of customers projects or missions For the performance of the duties above, Osmium expects the following experience and skills: Master’s in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded System Design, or IT Security or a comparable qualification Ability to seek and understand security needs and research possible solutions following formal standardized procedures or best practices Solid experience in operating system security, especially Linux Hands-on experience working with: Kernel configuration Application security features and hardening Good communication skills Target oriented, driven workstyle in analytic problem-solving skills required Willingness to take over responsibilities and drive things forward (you will have your voice on the project you will be working on) Fluent English language skills are essential (Note: oral and written, as you will be part of a multi-cultural team with international customers). And it would be awesome also if you have the following experience and skills: Working knowledge of at least one of the following security standards (ISO/SAE 21434, DO-326A/ED-202A series IEC 62443, ISO 2700x) Working knowledge of risk management methods or threat modelling techniques (e.g. STRIDE) Familiarity with ARM Trust Zone or other TEE Experience in Secure Boot Experience in embedded system development Experience in Android Security A security certification in, e.g., OSCP, CEH, CISSP, ECSA, or related What we offer: You will be directly involved in challenging key projects in the aerospace, defence and automotive industries, for private or public customers You will be pioneering in the growing space cybersecurity industry (do you know that cybersecurity will be mandated in the space sector in the EU as it has been done in other
