Job description

A seasoned Android Software Engineer is sought to join a mobile development team. This role is central to evolving an existing Android application. The position involves designing and implementing new features, improving performance, and ensuring the long-term maintainability of the app in a fast-paced environment., * Design, develop, and deploy new features for the existing Android application, ensuring seamless integration and optimal user experience.

  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code using modern Android development practices and tools.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the technical direction of the Android platform.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Stay current with Android platform updates, emerging technologies, and industry trends to improve the app.
  • Promote best practices in coding, testing, and design, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.

Experience: Candidates must have 5+ years of professional Android development experience with a strong portfolio of shipped applications or features. Experience with large-scale applications with complex architectures is necessary.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Kotlin and a deep understanding of Android SDKs and APIs across OS versions are required. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP, and asynchronous data handling is also needed. A solid understanding of UI/UX principles, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and performance optimization techniques is expected. Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and CI/CD pipelines is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Jetpack Compose is a plus.
