Testing (Software) Computer-Aided Design DevOps Software Tools Software Engineering Enterprise Software Applications

Job description

The Nucor Towers and Structures (NTS) Software Tester will ensure software is fully and properly tested before it is released for general production use. The primary focus will be on engineering-related software and improving our ability to take care of our customers and increase internal efficiency. Responsibilities may also include testing other inter-connected software, preparing release notes that detail the changes and enhancements, and ensuring that quality releases are communicated and delivered to our frontline teams. This is an opportunity for a teammate with strong communication and organization skills to build their project management and leadership abilities. This position will be located at NTSSC in Rock Hill, SC.

The software tester will be working directly with the Engineering Innovation, Software Development, and End-User Testing teams to verify that thoroughness and quality are achieved for every aspect of both the software and the testing process itself.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Driving testing efforts and improving the testing process end-to-end, ensuring QA best practices are implemented.
  • Ensuring no deviations from the specified requirements of the software being tested.
  • Working with users to gather information to clearly log bugs, features, and enhancements.
  • Writing test plans that cover the wide functionality and interdependency of our software packages.
  • Ensuring software is high quality, easy to use, and simple to understand by users.
  • Assisting in defining and planning user training and demonstrations.

Must be willing and able to travel infrequently for meeting with users, teammates, and training.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

Qualified Candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria to be considered:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 3 years of engineering experience (structural design/software testing/detailing/CAD design), * Extensive knowledge of detailing, engineering, and production workflows within Nucor Product Groups
  • Experience with DevOps and Software Development and Testing Processes.
  • Experience with a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) System
