Database Administrator

Join our team as a Database Administrator to support the Software Engineering Environment (SE2) and its associated databases. You will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and securing our database systems, while providing critical support to software developers., Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases for the SE2 environment

-Ensure database performance, integrity, security, and availability

-Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures

-Collaborate with software developers to support their database needs

-Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise

-Work with IIS and ColdFusion

-Implement and maintain SQL STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) for database security

-Provide critical support to software developers in managing SQL databases

-Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices

Required:

-An active DoD Secret clearance.

-Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline

-Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration

-Professionally recognized cybersecurity certifications per DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M

-Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

-Experience with cloud database services, particularly in Azure and Azure Storage Explorer

-Strong knowledge of SQL STIGs and their implementation

-Experience working with IIS and ColdFusion for database communication

-Solid understanding of database backup and recovery procedures

-Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL databases

-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired:

-Advanced degree in a related field

-Experience with MariaDB and PostgreSQL

-Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts

-Experience with database automation and scripting

-Relevant database certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)

-Experience with data migration and integration projects
