Job description
to join our Engineering Team at the Neste Rotterdam Refinery. Information and Digitalization Engineer, you will be the backbone of our refinery’s data ecosystem. You will manage, optimize, and expand our process information systems - specifically AspenTech InfoPlus.21 (IP21). Your bridge the gap between complex industrial data and actionable insights that drive production, maintenance, and high-level optimization. In this job you will work closely with the Operation Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Process Engineers, Operators and ensure data quality, availability, and reliability of process information, turn data into actionable insights. with the help of equipment vendors and our Refinery Solutions team. Furthermore, you will manage the lifecycle of several plant information systems at Neste to ensure the systems are compliant and reliable. You will report to the Automation and Control Lead. - Manage and maintain Proces Information systems (IP21) and related applications at the different sites of Neste Rotterdam.
- Develop and implement reports (KPI), dashboards, and data integrations between IP21, DCS/PLC, and business applications.
- Ensure data quality, availability, and reliability of process information, turn data into actionable insights.
- Support troubleshooting activities through analysis of historical and real-time data.

Act as the technical lead for Vendors (AspenTech) and internal stakeholders (Operations, IT, Engineering) to execute lifecycle updates and digitalization projects.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and specifications (data flows, configurations, interfaces).
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations related to data management and cybersecurity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field like Control Engineering, Automation

Min 5 years of experience with MES and/or Process Information Systems (preferably AspenTech IP21) in a production environment.
- Knowledge of integration between DCS/PLC and information/data systems.
- Experience with industrial databases, reporting tools (e.g., PI Vision, Power BI, SQL, Historian tools).
- Familiarity with industry standards regarding data security and reliability.
- Fluency in English and preferably good command of the Dutch language;
- Knowledge of project preparation and project reviews.
