Embedded Software Lead - Madrid , Spain An exciting opportunity to take ownership of the embedded software architecture behind a next-generation space propulsion system .You’ll lead the full software lifecycle across flight-critical firmware, laboratory automation and EGSE, while also leading and developing a team of embedded engineers.What you’ll be doing: Embedded Software Lead - Madrid , Spain Own the embedded software architecture from bare-metal through to RTOS Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers Drive the migration from legacy 8-bit firmware to a modern 32-bit RTOS architecture Develop verification strategies, HIL testing and CI/CD for embedded systems Work closely with hardware engineers on propulsion and laboratory systems Help shape software that will ultimately support real spaceflight What we’re looking for: Embedded Software Lead - Madrid , Spain 7+ years’ embedded software experience, including technical leadership/mentoring Strong C and C++ experience Hands-on bare-metal and RTOS experience, ideally FreeRTOS Strong knowledge of MCUs and low-level protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and PWM Python for automation and testing Git and CI/CD experience Ability to read PCB schematics ?? 40 hours per week ? 23 days holiday + 6 additional Christmas days Private health insurance €1,000 annual learning budget Up to 10 days remote working per month A great opportunity for an experienced embedded engineer who wants to take real ownership of the software architecture behind cutting-edge space technology.
