Job description

Our client is seeking an AppSec Developer to design, build, and maintain security scanning solutions that protect applications and infrastructure across the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly technical, collaborative, and passionate about embedding security into every stage of development. This is a hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT. AppSec Developer’s Responsibilities and Duties:

Design, develop, and maintain custom SAST and DAST scanning tools and frameworks
Build automated security testing pipelines integrated with CI/CD workflows
Create custom security rules, signatures, and detection patterns across multiple programming languages and frameworks
Develop parsers and analyzers to identify vulnerabilities in source code and running applications

Requirements

At least 4 years of professional experience in application security or software engineering
Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages for security tool development
Deep understanding of common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25)
Experience with SAST/DAST tools such as SonarQube, Checkmarx, Fortify, Veracode, Burp Suite, or OWASP ZAP
Knowledge of abstract syntax trees (AST), data flow analysis, and taint analysis
