Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining the DataServ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform, providing Tier 3 infrastructure and application support and working on diverse internal projects . This position works with the optimization of servers, systems and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported.

The Systems Administrator II performs a full range of administration functions in order to control systems and attain maximum utilization and efficiency . The Systems Administrator II will work with cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of information technology . This position is a “generalist” by nature, having had exposure to a variety of network and system administration work.

Candidates with experience wearing multiple hats and working closely across teams in smaller organizations are highly desirable.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 2-4 years directly related experience in an AWS environment.

• 1-3 years’ experience with Linux administration and Linux+ certification.

• 1-3 years’ experience with Microsoft (Windows) server administration.

• Experience supporting, troubleshooting and optimizing at least one of the following database platforms: MS SQL Server, MongoDB, ElasticSearch .

• Experience with scripting (bash, python, power shell).

• Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Must exhibit strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.

• Ability and desire to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

• May perform work requiring lifting up to 50 pounds and/or physical exertion.

• Must be able to communicate in technical and non-technical terms depending on audience.
