Job description
Insight Global is looking for an Information System Security Engineer for one of our largest defense clients out of Warren, MI in a hybrid position 3 days a week onsite. This person will establish and satisfy complex system wide information security requirements based upon analysis of user, policy, regulatory and resource demands. They will support customers in the development and implementation of doctrine and polices. They will also apply security engineering to government and commercial common user systems. Other responsibilities include:

Ensure all acquisitions, procurements, and outsourcing efforts address information security requirements consistent with the Army and DoD

Ensure security improvement actions are evaluated, validated, and implemented as required - Evaluate the effectiveness of procurement function in addressing information security requirements and supply chain risks through procurement activities, and recommend improvements

Identify alternative information security strategies to address security objectives

Identify IT security program implications of new technologies or technology upgrades

Interpret and/or recommend security requirements relative to the capabilities of new information technologies

Interpret patterns of noncompliance to determine their impact on levels of risk and/or overall effectiveness of the enterprise

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cybersecurity safeguards to ensure they provide the intended level of protection

Participate in the Risk Governance process to address security risks, mitigations, and input on other technical risks

Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are implemented

Provide input to the Risk Management Framework process activities and related documentation (e.g., system life-cycle support plans, concept of operations, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials) Assist with the selection of cost-effective security controls to mitigate risk (e.g., protection of information, systems, and processes)
Requirements

3-5+ years of experience
-
Experience within risk and vulnerability management
-
Experience with security controls implementation
-
Strong knowledge of compliance and regulation management
-
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance * Active Secret Clearance

CISSP-ISSEP Certifications
-
Risk Management Framework experience
Benefits & conditions
$40/hr to $60/hr : Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
