Data Center Critical Environment Manager

Merlin Edged has an exciting opportunity for a Data Center Critical Environment Manager.In this position you will work directly with Data Center Site Manager and be responsible for develop, roll-out and continuous improvement of customers projects, services, and reports.We are looking for someone who become an expert in customer experience, infrastructure, including platforms, tools, systems, architecture, workflow, and performance to manage our client footprints.The Critical Environment Manager needs to be agile, professional, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment.The right person is trustworthy with confidential information, highly organized, self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, can think strategically, and works equally as well independently as with a team.Edged values efficiency and strives to maintain smooth operations.Key Responsabilities:Establish strong working relationships with customers.Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a datacenterManage, and organize the planned preventative and corrective electrical and/or mechanical equipment according to customer requirements.Ensure that electrical, mechanical, and/or fire/life safety equipment within the client data hall is operating at peak efficiency.Ensure compliance with infrastructure operations standardizationAct as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the datacenter, escalating to the Operations Team as needed.This may include assisting technicians in times of emergencies, job training, and providing input/recommendations on electrical/mechanical design parameters.Management of small-to-medium projects from conception to completionEnsure routine reporting for critical infrastructure, inclusive of operational and maintenance KPIs, objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.Driving cost/energy efficiency projectsIdentifying single points-of-failure at client infrastructureCoordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise audits and compliance verificationsDrive identification and remediation of vulnerabilities (such as single points of failure).Provide recommendations on new data center equipment designs, technologies, and construction methods.Drive cost/energy efficiency projectsShare best practices, assists others in learning role, process, procedures, and mentors’ othersPromotes a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activitiesDrive data analytics, metrics, and interpretation of a complex environment to identify inefficiencies, opportunities, exceptions, and correlations, and proactively respond before they impact the businessEnsure quality, up-to-date documentation exists for all service arrangementsAchieve consistent customer satisfaction ratings and respond appropriate to customer feedback on areas for improvementDevelop / provide training program to support implementation and operations for our clientsImplement and drive a “lessons learned” approachSkills & Requirements Education / ExperienceProblem-solving aptitude and advanced knowledge of lean operational methodologies to distill operational data, develop an intentional data-driven strategy, and drive resulting global impactExperience mentoring and leading project management professionals is desired but not requiredBS or BA in a technical field, or commensurate experience5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a mature engineering or operations environmentExperience in large-scale planning and coordination, with experiencing delivering multiple concurrent projects on tight timelinesA solid understanding of enterprise level infrastructure is desiredITIL certification is a plusKnowledge of critical environment concepts and infrastructure (e.g. ElectricalA solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecastingProject or program management experience and certification(s)
