The Role As a member of the Product Development team, you will be responsible for delivering projects related to the technical development, support and maintenance of the company’s customer facing applications and internal applications to defined standards and to a high quality. As a Senior Engineer you will have a strong working knowledge of the design, development and maintenance of web-based applications. You will aid other team members in a coaching and mentoring capacity and be expected to work as part of an autonomous team. take ownership, lead the squad to do the same and discuss prioritisation with Product. - Align with wider department. - Promote strong morale within the squads. - What You’ll Bring - Technical Experience - As a Principal Engineer within the Development Team, you should have: - - Over 3 years’ experience being a Technical Lead in the team - Over 10 years’ experience of delivering IT development projects - A related degree or equivalent qualifications / experience Required: - Java - up to v21 - Spring (including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch) - Java Webapps (such as Tomcat 11 / Websphere, Spring MVC) - Apache, Nginx - CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Concourse, Git, GitLab, Octopus - Stored Procedures (MSSQL, DB2, Mongo, Postgres) - Agile Methodologies - Scrum, Kanban, Pair Programming, TDD Desirable: - Test tooling - Selenium, JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, Karma, Jasmine - REST/JSON APIs (Swagger, HATEOAS) - Build tools (Maven, Ant) - Unix - JavaScript (including JSON, Typescript, AngularJS/Angular) - ELK stack - Required Attributes and Characteristics - High attention to detail - Flexibility - Forward-thinking with drive and determination - Strong analytical & solution design skills - Team player with the ability to work independently where needed - Logical approach to problem solving and strong troubleshooting skills - It is impossible to list every requirement for, or responsibility of, any position.
