5G CN & Network Senior Engineer

Description Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states. To be part of this project, we are looking for a 5G CN & Network Senior Engineer, whose responsibilities will be as follows: - Define the 5G Core Network system requirements for a multi-orbit satellite system - Define the high-level hardware and software architecture for the 5G CN - Define implementation and test plans for proposed subsystem Technical follow-up of subcontractors activities related to design, requirements compliance, development and validation of the subsys-tems. - Support to higher level integration of the subcontractor subsystems in the system Minimum requirements - Master’s Degree in either Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field - 3 to 5 years of experience in the telecom industry Proficiency of mobile network architecture; Core Network, Radio Access Network and associated ancillary services. Experience of 5G Core Architecture - Knowledge and experience about virtualization and cloud platforms Expert knowledge of terrestrial wireless 3GPP standards - Proven experience in implementing 3GPP subsystems of the Core network, in particular the resource allocation and service orchestration parts and control plane interfaces - Experience in development and testing of 3GPP systems (4G or preferably 5G) Experience in implementing software for the terrestrial wireless telecom context Research and Development Project management experience Deep knowledge of 5G-NTN and New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks Knowledge about virtualization and cloud platforms Knowledge of satellite communi-cations Experienced in managing technology projects - Native to an EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance process. - Fluency in English, both written and spoken, any other European lan-guage is considered as an asset - Location: Madrid
