Solutions Architect - Spain (Barcelona) - Frequent TravelAbout the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead technical solution design and pre-sales support for industrial automation projects across Spain and the wider European region.The role will focus on delivering control and automation solutions across DCS, PLC, SIS and SCADA environments, supporting customers from initial requirements gathering through technical solution design, proposal development and bidding activities.LocationKey ResponsibilitiesAnalyse customer requirements and translate business and technical needs into detailed technical specifications and proposals.Design end-to-end industrial control architectures covering DCS, PLC, SIS and SCADA systems.Lead technical presentations, solution demonstrations and pre-sales discussions tailored to customer requirements.Act as the main technical point of contact during bidding processes, providing technical clarification and supporting successful commercial outcomes.Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including system architectures, manuals and training materials adapted to customer requirements.Work closely with product teams to share market trends and customer requirements.Coordinate with project execution teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and can be delivered successfully.RequirementsBachelor’s degree or above in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.At least 3 years of experience within industrial automation, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, or OT/IT integration.Experience or knowledge related to Industry 4.0 and smart factory deployment.Knowledge of IT infrastructure, AI and SaaS models would be a strong advantage.Strong presentation, proposal-writing and stakeholder-management skills, particularly within technical pre-sales or bidding environments.Willingness to travel as required to support projects within Spain and internationally.Fluent Spanish and English are required.Chinese language would be considered an advantage.
