Network Operations Engineer_ L2- English

At Hays, we are looking for a Network Operations Engineer to support the daily operation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of our OT network environment.This is a hands-on operational role.The candidate must be able to work independently, analyse incidents in a structured way, and interact with different technical teams and stakeholders in an international environment.What you will doProven experience in network operations, ideally in complex enterprise or industrial environments.Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple layers:Handle daily network operations activities, including incidents, service requests, changes and troubleshooting.Investigate connectivity issues across the full network path, not only at firewall level.Support troubleshooting of site-to-datacenter connectivity, VPNs, routing, switching, WAN links and firewall policies.Analyse incidents using monitoring tools, logs, ticket information and technical documentation.Assess impact and urgency of incidents, including major/P1 situations.Communicate clearly with internal teams, service owners and stakeholders during incident handling.Document findings, actions taken, technical decisions and handover information.Support network changes following agreed change management processes.Work with senior engineers, architects and other teams, but without requiring constant supervision.Contribute to improving operational documentation, troubleshooting guides and handover material.What we are looking forProven experience in network operations, ideally in complex enterprise or industrial environments.Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple layers:firewallsroutingswitchingWAN connectivityVPN/IPsecmonitoring and logsExperience with firewalls, ideally Palo Alto, but equivalent experience with Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD, Check Point or similar is also relevant.Good understanding of routing and switching fundamentals.Experience working with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira or similar.Experience with operational processes: incident management, change management, escalation, documentation and handover.Ability to understand business/service impact, not only technical symptoms.Ability to work in English in a distributed international team Proactive and accountable.What We OfferPermanent contract through Hays.Hybrid working model, with two days per week on-site at the office in Madrid.Competitive salary package.Join a stable, innovation?driven company with a long?term mindset If you are interested in working in an international environment, we would love to hear from you.
