Job description

- University or hospital?based medical research labs
- Nuclear medicine technology programs
- Navy Nuclear Program (MM/EM/ET)
- Nuclear energy, reactor systems, particle accelerators
- High?discipline engineering/electronics environments
Your expertise supports:
- Production of isotopes used in oncology, neurology, cardiology
- Supply for academic and clinical isotope research
- Advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals
What You’ll Do
- Operate, maintain, and repair cyclotrons and accelerator technology used in PET radiopharmaceutical and medical isotope manufacturing.
- Support medical research with consistent production of research-grade isotopes.
- Diagnose and repair electronic, electro?pneumatic, high?vacuum, chilled?water, RF, and high?voltage systems.
- Maintain and repair isotope production equipment including hot cells, manipulator arms, and radiosynthesizers.
- Complete GMP?compliant documentation, deviations, CAPAs, and audit materials.
- Operate cyclotrons during production runs, including night and weekend rotations.
- Support radiation safety duties per FDA, NRC, and EHS requirements.
- Train staff and develop SOPs and technical procedures.
- Oversee contractors and implement equipment reliability improvements.
- Provide after?hours technical support as needed.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Nuclear Technology, or related field.
- Experience in medical isotope research (strongly valued).
- Background in nuclear power, reactor systems, particle accelerators, or Navy Nuclear Propulsion is highly transferable.
- Knowledge of digital/analog circuitry, RF systems, vacuum technology, and high?voltage systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronics at the component level.
- Familiarity with GMP, FDA 21 CFR 212, radiation safety protocols, and NRC.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
