Telecommunications Provisioning Specialist, Salt Lake City, UT

Join a mission-driven team as a Telecommunications Provisioning Specialist / Circuit Actions Engineer, supporting critical government and defense networking environments. You’ll play a vital role in translating technical requirements into actionable circuit orders, ensuring reliable and secure telecom transport for Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DoW) networks. This position offers a dynamic work environment, hands-on technical challenges, and a unique 9/80 work schedule for enhanced work-life balance. Responsibilities

• Execute full lifecycle circuit actions: new service, upgrades, modifications, rehomes, renewals, disconnects, and restorations within DoD/DoW environments
• Analyze network requirements and site topology to ensure accurate service ordering, bandwidth, diversity, and correct Layer 1/physical interface delivery
• Prepare, submit, and track DISA Storefront and other telecom service orders for both government and commercial carriers
• Coordinate closely with DISA, defense communications organizations, commercial service providers, and internal engineering teams for timely provisioning and activation
• Troubleshoot and resolve provisioning, delivery, testing, and activation issues, including interface mismatches, cross-connect errors, and documentation gaps
• Validate circuit installations by coordinating test events, reviewing results, confirming handoff details, and ensuring technical prerequisites are met
• Maintain accurate inventories, provisioning records, and documentation in a secure, mission-focused environment
• Support outage response, service restoration, and provide timely status updates on operational and pending circuit actions

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience; or 2+ years of relevant experience with a graduate degree; 8 years of relevant experience/education may be considered in lieu of degree

• Active Top Secret U.S. Government DoD Clearance (or ability to maintain)
• Proven experience in telecom provisioning, circuit actions, or network operations in a defense or government setting
• Strong understanding of service order translation, circuit delivery, testing, activation, and operational integration
• Detail-oriented with robust troubleshooting and documentation abilities

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination across technical and non-technical teams Preferred Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Ethernet, MPLS, optical/fiber, SONET, and legacy Layer 1 handoff types
• Familiarity with DISA Storefront, Marketplace launch, and transition processes
• Experience with router, switch, optical transport, and encryption device connectivity
• Demonstrated ability to drive corrective actions and escalate issues with service providers
• Strong skills in maintaining trackers, inventories, and test documentation
