Job description
We have partnered with a rapidly growing technology business that is investing heavily in its Data & AI capabilities to support an expanding portfolio of enterprise customers. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for modern cloud data platforms, the business is looking to appoint a Databricks Data Architect to play a key role in designing and delivering scalable, secure and high-performing data architectures that enable advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative data team in a role that combines solution architecture, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and modern data platform design. You will help shape the organisation’s data strategy while driving the adoption of Databricks-based solutions that support both operational and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with business stakeholders, project teams and fellow data professionals, you will define architecture standards, design the data platform and establish best practices that enable the organisation to maximise the value of their data assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering enterprise-scale data architectures using Databricks and modern cloud technologies
- Architecting Lakehouse solutions that support analytics and reporting
- Defining data modelling standards, governance frameworks and architectural best practices
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Leading the design of data integration, transformation and optimisation strategies across complex environments
- Ensuring solutions meet requirements around security, performance, reliability and data quality
Requirements
- Proven experience in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture or a senior data-focused role
- Strong expertise designing and implementing solutions on the Databricks platform
- Experience with modern cloud platforms such as Azure
- Advanced SQL and Python skills for large-scale data solutions
- Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture, data modelling and data engineering best practices
- Experience establishing governance, lineage, security and data quality frameworks
- Experience leading technical teams and driving architectural strategies across complex data programmes
