Senior Backend Developer - Java (Financial Services)

Java is your passion, you know it like the back of your hand. The backend is where your interest lies. You think big, you don’t just write the code, you think about how this code you write will make an impact. You can visualise the real world implications of each line as you programme away. You are an expert, a Java aficionado. You’re well aware of the associated frameworks Java has, having put to good use the spring framework. With this you have built out applications and microservices, ideally in a financial services or banking setting. You have dockerised and deployed said applications and have a thirst for knowledge when it comes to technology, every new tool to learn is a new toy to play with. This role would see you use that expertise in Java to evolve, innovate and enhance the existing java and spring code base. Your visualisation of the impact your code has, will allow the company’s investments and wealth management to deliver successfully for their clients. You’ll upskill the more junior developers, passing on your passion and helping them see what you see, that real world application of each line written. You’ll work in a collaborative, close knit technology team who are focused on an extensive project list of greenfield work and improvements to existing applications and systems. These projects would see direct engagement with the C-suite as these projects are critical to business growth goals. You’ll be able to work in a hybrid fashion, with anchor Wednesdays there to get the teams together, face to face. Core hours are in play, but you can start early or finish late as long as you are delivering your work. You’ll be rewarded with a bonus of up to 15%, life assurance and healthy pension contributions.
