Interim Head of Data

Our client is looking for somebody with proven experience delivering data, insight and analytic solutions for data driven businesses. This is a min. 6 months contract opportunity and offers majority remote working with two days per week (on average) working from Manchester based offices.

Your main responsibility will be to collaborate with senior technology and business leaders to create a roadmap for the delivery of the data strategy encompassing architecture, governance, integration, master data management, modelling, analytics/insight and security. You will align data architecture, tools, and solutions with the delivery of an architecture roadmap. You will also manage incoming business demand and allocation to the data team, review data team resource, engage third party delivery teams as appropriate to fulfil the strategy, and drive a collaborative data planning process. This is an interesting role that reports directly into executive level, whilst also remaining somewhat technical.

• Commercial experience working as a Head of Data/Data Leader within a large business
• Experience building complex data strategies and aligning with wider IT strategies and plans
• Ability to build and influence relationships with key IT & business management stakeholders quickly
• Large scale delivery of data platforms and big data solutions
• MS Data Solutions such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI etc
• Leading data teams of medium to large sizes comprising a mixture of BAU, consultancy and third-party resource
• Change management
• Budget management
• Experience working within a third-sector business such as a charity or social enterprise would be highly desirable for this role
