Job description
- Manage and optimize the infrastructure and data related to advanced metering systems for utility companies.
- Oversee the daily operations of AMI systems, including meters, communication networks, data collection, and storage systems.
- Maintain and update master data such as customer account information, meter IDs, and related metadata.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot data collected from smart meters to ensure accuracy and identify trends.
- Coordinate the deployment and installation of smart meters, ensuring proper functioning.
- Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard metering data against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry regulations related to AMI and data management.
- Generate reports and dashboards for system performance and data insights.
- Collaborate with billing, customer service, and other departments to integrate AMI data into operational workflows.
- Work with vendors to procure equipment, software, and support services for AMI and MDM systems.
- Train staff on system operations, data management best practices, and cybersecurity measures.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades, process improvements, and cost efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in AMI operations, data management, or utility operations.
- Proficiency with AMI technologies, data management tools, and cybersecurity practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting metering data.
- Knowledge of utility industry regulations and data management standards.
- Effective communication skills for coordination with teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Experience in project management, especially for large-scale AMI deployments, is a plus.
- Attention to detail to ensure data quality and system reliability.
