Job description

Senior DevOps Engineer

📍 London

💰 £150,000 - £200,000 Base + Bonus + Equity

We’re partnered with a technology company building high-performance infrastructure for decentralised financial markets.

They’re seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help improve the infrastructure, tooling and processes that support their production systems and engineering team.

The role covers CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, deployment tooling and production reliability, alongside lower-level work with Linux systems, networking and infrastructure performance.

The platform is still developing, so there is plenty of scope to improve existing tooling and processes, introduce better automation and influence how the engineering team operates.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, release processes and deployment workflows.
  • Automate infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Improve the reliability and operability of production systems.
  • Build and improve monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards and alerting.
  • Improve incident diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Develop internal tooling that reduces repetitive work across engineering.
  • Improve the developer experience from local development through to production.
  • Work with Linux systems, networking, host configuration and resource contention.
  • Contribute to infrastructure security, access controls, secrets management and system hardening.
  • Identify reliability, performance and operational issues and drive improvements.

The systems are latency-sensitive, with the role extending into areas such as host-level tuning, kernel settings, CPU isolation and networking behaviour.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Experience building and operating production infrastructure in cloud environments.
  • Strong Linux systems knowledge and understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience designing monitoring, observability and alerting for production systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • AWS, Terraform or Ansible experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience with high-performance, high-throughput or latency-sensitive systems would be particularly valuable.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of problems and driving them through to delivery.

Benefits

  • £150,000 - £200,000+ base salary.
  • Lucrative performance-based bonus + Equity
  • Private healthcare.
  • UK visa sponsorship available.
  • Engineer-owned company - built for engineers.
  • High levels of ownership and autonomy.
  • Direct influence over infrastructure, engineering practices and tooling.
  • Opportunity to work alongside a small, elite team.
