Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring a Data Governance Analyst to support Veterans Affairs (VA) Data Modernization initiatives. This role focuses on creating a comprehensive list of DataGov policies for data owner teams to use Collibra EDC, DQ and Immuta, maintaining DataGov SharePoint and Confluence structure, and assisting with researching other matters related to data governance. The candidate will analyze business processes, gather and prioritize requirements, and partner with technical teams to deliver scalable and user-focused solutions. This position is fully remote within the United States., * Create a comprehensive list of DataGov policies for data owner teams to use Collibra EDC, DQ and Immuta utilizing industry research, current available documents such as User Guides, confluence pages, etc., and by interviewing the scrum team, architects, relevant other contractors, vendor teams and other relevant teams in Summit.

  • Create a comprehensive set of DataGov policies for Summit data owner teams, data consumer teams, and Summit personnel.
  • Create PowerApp, SharePoint forms, Microsoft Forms, SharePoint pages, Confluence pages, Microsoft Word and/or other form factors and formats as requested - for the above policies.
  • Create a SharePoint and Confluence structure for DataGov and create and maintain pages in the structure/content management as necessary.
  • Create content for newsletters, success stories, and other formats.
  • Work with data owners, vendors and other stakeholders to obtain information and content for the various data governance tools.
  • Assist with researching other matters related to data governance.
  • Support documentation required for security, compliance, ATO, audits, releases, operational readiness, and governance activities, coordinating with Program Security Compliance and technical teams as necessary.
  • Assist with preparation and remediation of documentation supporting internal reviews, VA compliance activities, and audit requests.
  • Participate in technical working sessions, demonstrations, knowledge-transfer sessions, and SME interviews to capture processes and develop supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. (or commensurate experience)
  • 12+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Confluence, Jira, and SharePoint environments.
  • Experience working directly with engineers, architects, cybersecurity professionals, developers, and other technical SMEs.
  • Ability to understand complex cloud, data, application, security, and infrastructure concepts and translate them into concise documentation.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience supporting VA, Federal Government, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting cloud or enterprise data platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Databricks, DevSecOps, data platforms, and cloud provisioning concepts.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, ServiceNow, GitHub, or similar enterprise collaboration and development tools.
  • Experience supporting ATO, cybersecurity, audit, risk, governance, or compliance documentation.
  • Knowledge of Agile/SAFe delivery methodologies and experience supporting Agile technical teams.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process.
