Job description
An employer is looking for an SDET for a remote, contract opportunity. The client is a Fortune 50 retailer and the SDET will be supporting the client’s Monetization space, supporting and testing components of customer-facing web applications. The SDET will work in an Agile environment and will be joining a fairly mature, collaborative team. The SDET will work closely with the development and testing teams, identify and report defects and contribute to the overall improvement of web application quality. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated tester with a strong foundation in web application development and automation., Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand web application functionality and requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks for web applications.
Execute automated test suites, analyze test results, and report defects.
Work closely with the development team to investigate, debug, and resolve issues.
Identify and prioritize test cases for automation, focusing on critical areas of the application.
Continuously improve and expand test coverage and test scenarios.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall quality of the codebase.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless testing process.
Stay up-to-date with web development trends and emerging testing tools and technologies.
Contribute to the development of testing strategies and best practices for web application testing.
Requirements
· Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript Preferred (or equivalent: Java, Python) · Frameworks: Playwright (or equivalent: Selenium, WebDriverIO) · Tools: QMetry, JIRA, Confluence, Postman · CI/CD: GitHub Actions (or equivalent: GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), · 2-3 years’ experience with manual and automated testing for web applications · Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript · Hands-on experience with Playwright or comparable frameworks (Selenium, WebDriverIO) · Familiarity with API testing and local test overrides · Experience working with test management and defect tracking tools (QMetry, JIRA) · Comfortable testing applications locally and debugging front-end issues · Strong communication skills: will be working directly with stakeholders
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Direct experience writing and maintaining Playwright test suites · Experience with test mocking strategies in automated tests · Strong understanding of front-end application architecture · Enterprise environment experience
