Job description
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines supporting mission critical workflows.
- Implement best practices for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, quality, and sustainment.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reliable, maintainable data engineering solutions.
- Ensure long-term reliability, observability, and performance of production data systems.
- Develop and operate solutions within Databricks (mandatory), consistent with mission platform operations.
- Produce documentation, diagrams, data models, and sustainment procedures.
- Support troubleshooting, optimization, and enhancements to production systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical and mission teams to align engineering outputs with program goals.
Requirements
- Databricks experience is mandatory.
- Strong skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines in cloud-native environments.
- Understanding of data modeling, orchestration, automation, and quality frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps practices supporting data engineering workflows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with government stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Experience supporting government or mission-critical data systems.
- Familiarity with data lakehouse architecture patterns.
- Experience with dashboarding or analytics tools supporting mission users.
- Knowledge of cloud services supporting Databricks-based environments.
Benefits & conditions
The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
